At Ugly Duckling, we're all about respecting the nail

If the nail is prepped properly and you use quality products, there is no need for harsh chemicals when preparing the nails for any enhancements

Our Prep and Primer are gentle on the nail, while still providing maximum adhesion

Use your Primer after Prep to create an bond of your acrylic or gel, and prior to gel polish base on natural nails

Dye and fragrance - assuring there is no residue deposited on the nail plate

OVER ACRYLIC, SCULPTING GEL OR ACRYGEL:Simply shape your enhancement with our Ugly Duckling Medium Zebra File, Coarse Buffer or if you prefer an e-file: the Medium grit Arbor Sanding Band

Do not buff or finish the nail with anything finer or you may risk the polish/top coat peeling

Remove all dust

Do not use a cleanser as some cleansers can contain oil

Do not use alcohol or acetone either as it will soften the grooves from finish filing and create too smooth a surface for maximum adhesion

Feel to have your clients wash their hands, just be sure that the nails are completely dry before top coating

Apply Tacky Top directly over the dust enhancement and cure in our Ugly Duckling LED Gel Lamp for 60 seconds

Allow nails to cool approximately 45-60 seconds after removing from the LED Lamp before cleansing

Remove the tacky inhibition layer from the nails with Ugly Duckling Gel Cleanse

OVER GEL POLISH & COLOR GEL:Apply gel polish/color gel and cure

Do not remove tacky inhibition layer

Apply Tacky Top and cure in Ugly Duckling LED Lamp for 60 seconds

Allow nails to cool approximately 45-60 seconds after removing from the LED Lamp before cleansing

Remove the tacky inhibition layer from the nails with Ugly Duckling Gel Cleanse

TIP:  allow Tacky Top to "cool" for 45-60 seconds after removing from the LED Lamp before cleansing to ensure the highest gloss shine

Q: My Tacky Top doesn't seem to be as shiny as normal

Is there something I can do differently

A: be sure to fully cure your top coat: 60 seconds in the Ugly Duckling LED Gel Lamp(s)

We also recommend waiting 45-60 seconds after the final cure to allow the top coat to "cool" before cleansing the inhibition layer with Gel Cleanse and before applying cuticle oil or touching the surface of the nails (as this can transfer our natural oils
